Who We Are

Armstrongs has been providing exceptional wholesale, ULC listed alarm monitoring services to independent security dealers across Canada since 1989. We are proud members of CANASA (Canadian Security Association), with a proven track record of reliability and customer satisfaction.

Armstrongs does not sell, install, or quote on security tenders. We take pride in specializing in security monitoring services for Independent Security Installers. This is the sole purpose of our business and is why our company slogan is “Armstrongs Is Your Partner, Not Your Competitor.”

We have multiple redundant sites strategically located across Canada. We are a ULC listed Shared Service company for Burglar, Fire & Financial services and currently monitor over 250,000 accounts across Canada.

Our state-of-the-art Data and Monitoring Centre in Laval, Quebec, is a critical part of the network, offering superior redundancy in our operations. Redundancy significantly increases the probability that a signal is properly received regardless of circuit issues, weather, or equipment failure. We not only focus on equipment redundancy within our monitoring centers but also redundancy among our centers. Any two of our three centers can carry the entire North American monitoring load with capacity to spare. ULC is now recognizing this need for simultaneous redundancy with the new requirements for 2025 – so with Armstrongs our dealers will be covered beyond the new standard.

As part of Becklar Enterprise Monitoring, we provide enhanced services such as remote guarding, video verification, expanded dealer tools and applications, and improved redundancy. In the past 18 months, Becklar Enterprise Monitoring has invested approximately $3 million in Canada’s operations and infrastructure.

Our Leadership Team

Dan Small

President

Dan has been with Armstrongs since Canada Day 1993! On top of growing the small East Coast monitoring company to a true leader in the Canadian security monitoring industry, Dan has also served as the CANASA Atlantic chapter president, as well as numerous other national committee’s as chair or member with CANASA. Dan is passionate about the integration between people and technology within the Security industry and how technology can assist the public in general in their daily lives.

Kim Caron

Director of Sales

Kim has been in alarm monitoring since 1986, first starting out as a station manager, then becoming the Director of Customer Care, and the Director of Business Development. Kim has been with Armstrongs for the last 20 years, and is currently the Director of Sales for Canada. Kim has served as the National President of CANASA, as well as other chapter and committee roles, and has sat on the SIAC board too. Kim has a strong reputation for delivering results, and is passionate about developing lasting business relationships.

Lewis Jacobson

National Sales Manager

Lewis has over 30+ years in the alarm monitoring industry, starting off as an operator while he was still in college. He worked his way from operator to Operations Manager, before becoming the Director of Dealer Sales for 20 years. Lewis has been with Armstrongs since fall of 2022, and is the National Sales Manager – Canada. Lewis has served on the CANASA National Monitoring Station committee for 5 years, and brings a diverse set of business and sales development experience to the Armstrongs team.

Steve Richards

Chief Executive Officer

Steve Richards is a seasoned CEO with over three decades of leadership at numerous publicly traded and private companies. A skilled leader known for systemically driving growth via organic and acquisition-driven initiatives, his track record includes experience across technology, media, communications, business process outsourcing, and recurring services firms, all marked by a consistent history for driving transformational growth and exceptional client service.

Justin Bailey

President, Becklar Enterprise Monitoring

Justin serves as president of Becklar Enterprise Monitoring, and has led the company through a period of dramatic growth and evolution. Beyond expanding the customer base, he was integral in developing hybrid partnership models that leverage Becklar Enterprise Monitoring's technology. He joined Becklar in 2010 as V.P. of Strategic Development, leading the IT team in software development as well as developing and implementing various technological advancements such as AI monitoring.
